Deerfield Fly Shop

Massachusetts is home to very respectable large and small-mouth bass fishing. These hard hitting and hard fighting fish are really fun to catch on fly tackle. Connecticut River trips are run out of a 16 foot Jon boat and can accommodate one or two anglers. We also fish a number of lakes and ponds for largemouth bass. Please have a MA fishing license and dress for the weather.

All of our guided trips and lessons are Catch & Release. We require a $100 deposit upon booking a guided trip or lesson.

We offer year round float trips. Float trips provide the opportunity to cover more water and access areas that can be difficult on foot. Anglers 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult. All rods, flies and equipment will be provided. Please have a valid MA fishing license and come dressed for the weather. One boat accommodates 2 anglers. Multiple boats available, please call for details and availabilty.

We offer a 3 hour class that will introduce you to the sport of fly fishing and will cover basic equipment used for fly fishing, basic knot tying, overhead casting, roll casting, fly selection and how to read water. Anglers 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. We encourage you to use your own rod but we can provide rods and waders if needed. Please have a MA fishing license and dress for the weather. Larger groups available upon request.

This popular option combines our Fly Fishing 101 instruction followed by a half day wade trip.

Enjoy a guided wade trip on the Deerfield, Millers, Westfield and Swift River or one of our many other scenic rivers and streams. Whether you are a beginner or experienced angler, we can tailor your trip to your skill level and techniques. All rods, flies and equipment provided. Waders and boots available.
