Learn to fly fish in the waters of Puget Sound, or translate your freshwater fly fishing experience to the salt. With more than 2,500 miles of shoreline that’s home to anadromous trout and salmon species, this all-seasons fishery is a prize in our own back yard.
In this class you’ll learn about:
- Habitat of sea run cutthroat trout (our target species)
- “Reading” saltwater environments to find fish
- Rules and regulations around fishing for sea run cutthroat trout
- Food sources and fly patterns
- How tides, weather, and time of year affect fish behavior and inform fishing strategies
- Casting techniques, equipment, and knots
- Landing fish with care, to maximize survival rates
This class is specifically for tidal watersheds and designed to boost your knowledge and confidence for Puget Sound and other saltwater destinations. This is a women’s class. For coed classes, please contact the shop for dates. 206-708-7250
