The AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Course is a comprehensive 3-day (24-hour) program designed to introduce participants to avalanche hazard management. Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical field exercises, students will develop foundational skills in avalanche safety, including terrain assessment, risk evaluation, and rescue techniques.

No prior avalanche training is required. However, participants should have basic backcountry travel skills and be comfortable with their equipment.
