The South Holston is a tailwater flowing out of the bottom of South Holston Reservoir. Its has an unreal fish density for the southeast. The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency estimates that there are between 5000-6000 trout per mile. This is a world-class fishery with daily hatches and the best dry fly fishing you will see. You will want to book more than one day to fully experience the South Holston. We offer trips for beginners and experienced anglers alike. Our prices include all gear and terminal tackle needed for your trip which means your guide will have the equipment: flyrod, flies, and tippet, needed for your day. Snacks and drinks are provided for half-day trips. A riverside lunch is provided on all full day trips. Please bring a TN fishing license, your favorite fishing gear, a cap or hat, sunglasses, and a lightweight rain jacket and appropriate clothing. Cell service is poor in the South Holston Area. FISHING LICENSE: The State of Tennessee requires people between 16 and 64 to have a valid fishing license in order to fish for trout on private or public water. This can be obtained online at gooutdoorstennessee.com. These can also be purchased at the WalMart in Bluff City. CANCELLATION POLICY: Your trip is confirmed upon receipt of your deposit. Your deposit is fully refundable with a 30 day notice, less than 30 days and the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations within seven days of the scheduled trip will be billed in full unless you can find an alternate or we can re-book your current scheduled date. We do not cancel or reschedule trips due to the possibility of showers. Showers are common where we operate. Please bring a light rain jacket and be prepared.
